Winona Ryder, professionally Winona Ryder was born on Winona Minnesota. The parents named her Winona for her hometown. Both her father Michel Horowitz, and mother Cynthia Palmer are authors and editors. Ryder's father and mother have both been Jewish. Ryder believes herself to be Jewish. She has a younger brother Uria and two half-siblings Jubal as well as Sunyata. Ryder relocated with her family members to Mendocino County California at the age of seven.
